The National Graphene Association (NGA) continues to assemble an unrivaled advisory board of thought leaders and experts.

Dr. Ed Meek, founder of the National Graphene Association, announced the appointment of Hu Meena, Chairman and CEO of C Spire, Jackson, Mississippi; James Vig Sherrill, General Graphene, Knoxville, Tennessee; Ibrahim Mutlay, Meta Dynamics, Turkey; Bill Geary, Raymond James & Associates, Jackson, Mississippi; and Zoe Peterkin, AZoNetwork, Manchester, United Kingdom.

“NGA is the main organization and body in the United States advocating and promoting the commercialization of graphene, “ said Dr. Zina Jarrahi Cinker, executive director of the NGA. Graphene, also known as the “wonder material of the 21st century” expected to impact many areas of technology enriching and making possible products yet unimagined.

“The NGA has assembled an unrivaled Advisory Board of 52 thought leaders and experts from commercial and industrial segments, advanced material and technology companies, national labs, government agencies, investment firms standards bodies and academic and research institutions,” said Dr. Jarrahi Cinker.

Hu Meena has almost 30 years of telecommunications experience and has been described by Fierce Wireless as one of the most powerful people in cellular. A competition enthusiast and innovation advocate, Meena is Chairman and CEO of C Spire, the largest privately held wireless carrier and the sixth largest carrier in the nation. Responsible for the strategic direction of the brand and casting the vision for our team. Mississippi is an escalating hub of tech innovation including the location of the Center for Graphene Research and Innovation at The University of Mississippi and home of the NGA.

James Vig Sherrill is CEO and Founder of General Graphene in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mr. Sherrill has started a number of highly successful companies over a 25-year career, including Audio Animation, ASCI International, HealthSpex, TradeWinds, and GridSmart. GridSmart, a transportation technology company, developed unique video signal processing technology using a single “fish-eye” camera to track vehicles to facilitate traffic flow. The company currently has over 6000 traffic control systems installed in 29 companies.


Ibrahim Mutlay is the founder of several startups and companies on advanced materials, green chemistry, and computational science. He is a graduate of Ankara University and resides in Turkey. He has almost two decades of business and research experience in the field of carbon materials; from fibers, fullerenes to graphene, every physical form. His Grafen Co. developed practical applications of carbon nanomaterials for industry leaders like Bosch and Evonik. He currently serves as president and founder of Meta Dynamics, helping companies to turn cutting-edge ideas into market-ready products.


Bill Geary is a Managing Director for Raymond James & Associates. He currently manages a Wealth Management practice advising families and foundations on investments and planning. Bill joined Raymond James n 2012 when the firm bought Morgan Keegan in 2012. At Morgan Keegan, Bill served as co-head of the Private Client Group and on the firm’s Executive Committee. Bill is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) and is active in a number of civic and non-profit organizations.


Zoe Peterkin is a Site Manager, Editor and Account Manager at AZoNetwork, a global science news distribution organization, based in Manchester, UK. AZoNetwork posts content from across the scientific community. She has a background in Biological Sciences and Data Analysis.
