The National Graphene Association will be hosting the first ever Graphene Composites Design Competition. This contest is the first of a two phase competition series with total prize of $75,000. The first phase will focus on design ideas and the second phase will focus on physical prototypes. This year’s competition is sponsored by TLC Products to support the National Graphene Association’s mission of driving innovation within the graphene community.

Submission Category

Ideas and designs for phase I are to be developed for products that use graphene-enhanced composites, either thermosets, thermoplastics or elastomers.

HOW IT WORKS

SUBMIT YOUR IDEA

Anyone can submit an idea! Contestants will submit their graphene-enabled product ideas and designs — no physical prototypes needed — by filling out the application form and provide information on their idea, business merit, and supporting data. The application must be submitted by November 1st.

JUDGES REVIEW & SELECT

A panel of five experienced judges, reaching across industry, research, academia, suppliers etc., will review the submissions after November 1st and will make a selection of the final contestants.

PITCH YOUR IDEA

If you are selected as a finalist, you will pitch your idea during the three minute pitch session at the Graphene Innovation & Research Conference in Jackson, MS on November 20th. The judges will listen to the pitches and after a short deliberation, will announce the five top winners with five cash prizes.
